アジア開発銀行（以下、ADB）は、今、人事戦略見直しの真っただ中にある。今年2月2日、ADBは今後優先分野に事業の焦点をあて、それに伴って世界各国から優秀な人材の確保を行う予定であることを明らかにした。
戦略の発表に先立って、同行人事戦略策定に携わったAlessandro Pio氏に戦略内容についてお話を伺った。イタリア出身のPio氏は、ADBが既に公表済みのStrategy 2020と呼ばれるADB全体の戦略を基に策定された”Our People”戦略づくりの中心人物として、行内関係者や専門家らを率いている。
Pio氏はADBの予算、人事、管理システム部の上級アドバイザーであり、人事に関する政策に20年以上の間携わっている。同氏はエコノミストであり、コミュニティ、地域計画の専門家であり、ADBスリランカ事務所、ベトナム事務所にそれぞれ勤務した経験を持つ。
インタビュー前半では、Pio氏にインフラ、環境、地域内協力と地域内統合、金融及び教育がなぜADBの優先分野として特定されたのか、その背景について聞き、後半では、ADBが応募者に求める「採用したい人物像」について聞いた。
