Gearing up for the Happy Hour: What to expect at the event

Posted by Kristina Granger on 16 July 2008

I am sure you are all getting excited for the 7th Annual International Development Happy Hour.  If you didn't attend last year's event, or even if you did, you might be wondering what to bring, what to wear, or what to expect at the event.  In this blog post I hope to answer all of your unasked questions and get you energized for a fabulous night of networking coming up soon!

The International Development Happy Hour is an informal event which serves as a great place to network in a relaxed and fun environment.   You'll find that attendees will be wearing everything from suits to skirts to jeans.  We advise you to dress in business casual attire, comfortable yet professional.  Who knows who you'll run into, you may even be meeting your future boss or employee!  There will also be a coat check at the event, but with such a large crowd expected we suggest that you leave your laptops and suitcases at the office or at home if possible.  You'll want to be sure to follow-up with everyone you meet so don't forget your business cards or calling cards but please leave your resumes at home and save those for our next Devex Career Fair coming to a city near you.

If you haven't already done so, there is still time to register and don't forget to invite all of your friends and colleagues as well!  Get that elevator pitch ready and we'll see you on July 24th at Ultrabar!
