JOB SUMMARY

  • Planning, implementation and monitoring of HIV/AIDS intervention including VCT, PMCTC, BCC, PEP and PITC in Tambura and Nagero Counties,
  • Extension of Voluntary Testing Counselling (VCT) centre to another County,
  • Close follow up and support of Behaviours change communication four approaches. The approaches are one to One/Small group, Community wide event/large group, MARPs and HIV prevention focusing on abstinence and/or being faithful.
  • Extension of PMCTC program to other Health Facilities within the program area,
  • Enhance the technical and management skills of the services providers at the Health Facilities,
  • Ensure the availability of PEP kits in PMCTC and its utilization,
  • Implement Provider Initiated Testing and Counselling (PITC) intervention on priority bases especially to increase the uptake of HIV testing and counselling and the probability to pick those with positive.
  • Strong follow up on people with positive HIV for 5 Post test club members at a community based approach and o 3 PMTCT and 2 ART clinic staffs to provide the service at a facility based setting.
  • Maintain the quality services of HIV/AIDS prevention care and support.    
  • Submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly report to the Medical Director/Project Director by meeting the deadlines,
  • Liaise with local stakeholders, donors and Ministry of Health,
  • Provide supportive supervision, on job and formal training in accordance with set indicators,
  • Ensure proper drug management and supply chain management.
  • Assist in developing concept paper or survey if required.
  • Participate in HIV/AIDS meetings strategic planning local and Federal levels.
  • Comply to IMC Standard Operational Procedures

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Academic Medical Degree and MPH with public health background/experience
  • Skilled in management, supervision and organization
  • Very good program report writing skills as well as analytical capacities
  • Strong experience in organizing and conducting training and capacity building
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, EXCEL)
  • Previous working experience in emergency set-up with at least five year experience in an international organization as health program manager/HIV/AIDS Program manager

  • Energetic, independent and motivated to work in resource limited and harsh environment
  • Not easily disheartened by frustration and delays
  • No 08:00 to 17:00 working mentality
  • Strong teamwork skills in a multi-cultural setting
  • Working knowledge of English is a must, knowledge of Arabic would be an asset
