Access to Finance Specialist, West Africa

Banyan Global, an international development consulting firm, is recruiting a full time Access to Finance Specialist with fluent French to live and work in West Africa.  The successful candidate will have excellent technical experience in financial services, knowledge of USAID, and fluency in French. 

Responsibilities include providing access to finance expertise for a regional agricultural trade project and food security initiative.  Technical work will include designing and implementing technical interventions to catalyze financing for SMEs and exporters, managing the development and delivery of training and technical assistance to financial institutions and SMEs, assisting in structuring Development Credit Authority credit guarantee, and providing thought leadership on innovative mechanisms to increase SMEs, women-owned businesses and exporters.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience designing and implementing access to finance programs
• Knowledge of and experience with SME financing programs in West Africa
• Experience in designing and delivering training for banks and financial institutions on SME programming
• Knowledge of and experience with warehouse receipts programs
• Experience working with USAID
• Master’s degree in finance or related field
• Fluency in French is mandatory
