RTI is now recruiting for a Chief of Party (COP) for a Crime and Violence Prevention Project (CVPP) in El Salvador. The objective of the project is to help increase safety for citizens of El Salvador. This will be accomplished through:
• Supporting the Government of El Salvador’s national level crime prevention efforts.
• Supporting the expansion of municipal-led crime and violence prevention efforts.
• Indentifying and seizing windows of opportunity in crime and violence prevention.
The Chief of Party (COP) will be responsible for:
•Providing the vision and overall leadership to the team;
•Managing the Contractor’s technical assistance and program administration;
•Implementing activities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations;
•Preparing and submitting technical and financial reports requested by USAID/El Salvador;
•Help coordinate USAID/El Salvador assistance with key national and local government counterparts and other non-governmental partners.
Qualifications:
•Requires a minimum a BS degree in a related field such as Law, Social Work, Criminal or Juvenile Justice, Public or Business Administration, Community Development; a higher degree—Master’s, J.D., or Ph.D. is desirable with a total of 12 or more years experience.
•Demonstrated experience in working with senior government officials and municipal authorities across partisan lines and the private sector to support a program’s objectives.
•Experience working with donor-funded youth at-risk, crime and or violence reduction, public safety or community development programs, and proven capacity to facilitate coordination amongst diverse sectors is required.
•A minimum of 7 years of experience in a progressively more responsible position with at least three years as a COP for a small project under $6 million) or two years as a deputy COP for a large project (over $7 million).
•Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English skills (FSI IV).
