Chief of Party

Deloitte Consulting is currently recruiting for an anticipated USAID program in Haiti focused on value chain development. 

Candidates for this position should be senior-level professionals with a proven track record of successfully implementing and managing value chain projects in countries with a socio–cultural and economic situation similar to Haiti. The COP will be responsible for oversight of the entire project, and will be required to work with various stakeholders, including high level government and USAID officials.

Duties:

The Chief of Party’s primary responsibilities are aimed at providing overall leadership management and general technical direction of the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract. This individual will be expected to identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments. This individual shall act as the key liaison between USAID/Haiti and all other counterparts and implementing partners involved with the program. The position requires significant coordination skills, broad general and technical knowledge, experience in developing countries and skills to ensure coherence and consistency in spite of urgent deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in international development, business, economics, or related field of study or equivalent work experience required;
• Ten (10) years or more of progressively responsible international work experience implementing multi-sector development programs with demonstrated strong management and coordinating skills;
• At least five (5) years of management experience, including direct supervision of professional and support staff and assembling teams working on multi-faceted international development programs;
• No less than five years of experience in the value chain development;
• Relevant technical background in value chains, preferably in the areas of agriculture, apparel and/or construction; 
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing alliances with the private sector;
• A familiarity with and commitment to addressing gender equality in project sectors is also required, as demonstrated by at least two years of senior-level experience working on projects that addressed gender-related constraints;
• Demonstrated excellent communications and writing abilities and superior interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills;
• Extensive knowledge of USAID administrative and procurement practices;
• Familiarity with the socio-economic landscape of Haiti is preferred;
• Fluent in English and French, and proficient in Creole, and;
• Previous COP experience in Haiti a plus.
