Chief of Party- Bangladesh

Program Summary:

The 5-year Agro-Inputs Project in Bangladesh is designed to stimulate agricultural development to increase production and productivity, reduce rural poverty and improve food security in the southern delta of Bangladesh. The project aims to establish an Agricultural Input Retailers’ Network (AIRN), which will play a major role in supplying high-quality inputs to farmers in the southern delta.

 

Position Summary:

  • Provide strategic vision and leadership for the program to ensure the achievement of program goals and objectives
  • Manage all aspects of program including overall technical, administrative, operational, and logistical management of the project
  • Manage the program implementation plan, reporting, analyzing budgets
  • Manages office and program staff
  • Oversee coordination mechanisms with relevant stakeholders and serve as the key liaison with USAID, CNFA HQ, Government of Bangladesh, the various private sector actors
  • Lead teams in line with USAID FORWARD Initiative  to strengthen capacity and development of project staff’s professional career 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in agriculture, agricultural economics or relevant field is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in program development
  • Experience working with USAID and international donors
  • Experience managing multi-year, donor-funded development programs for international donors
  • Previous work experience in Bangladesh or in the region is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in programs or initiatives involving gender mainstreaming preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national and local government, donors, community-based organizations, think tanks and universities, and the private sector
  • Dynamic interpersonal and leadership skills, with ability to manage high-level relationships and motivate staff
  • Oral and written fluency in English
