Management Sciences for Development, Inc. (MSD) is an international development consulting firm committed to strengthening the capacity of justice sector institutions to support a culture of respect for the rule of law, and promoting and protecting the rights of marginalized communities. MSD programs encompass three priority areas: justice sector reform, human rights, and access to justice.

MSD seeks a Chief of Party for an anticipated rule of law program in Colombia. Program areas may include justice sector reform, court administration and management, alternative dispute resolution, and public defense.

 Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in law or relevant field
  • Minimum ten  years’ experience managing and implementing USAID or other donor-funded projects in Latin America
  • Knowledge of the Colombian justice sector preferred
  • Experience working collaboratively with government officials, international donors and community organizations
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, management, and technical direction
  • Supervise technical and administrative staff
  • Serve as liaison to the USAID Mission and counterpart organizations
  • Ensure high quality technical progress and financial reporting in line with USAID requirements and MSD standard operating procedures
  • Oversee budget development and financial management
  • Develop and prepare work plans and performance monitoring reports
