Chief of Party, Worldwide

IRD is expanding its global presence and seeking to build a strong COP pool for future job openings for USAID and other donor -funded projects: 

 

Chief of Party candidates are sought in the following technical areas:

 

  • Democracy & Governance: Civil society strengthening, local governance, human rights, community development, media development.
  • Food and AgriculturalAgribusiness, food security, crop production, livelihoods development, livestock / pastoral development.
  • Economic Growth; Enterprise development, value chain development, market development, local economic development, development credit.
  • Health and Hygiene: HIV/AIDs, family planning, maternal and child health, women’s and reproductive health, health systems delivery.
  • Relief and Humanitarian Assistance: Disaster assistance, logistics, protection, disaster risk reduction, grants management.
  • Infrastructure Development: Roads, water and vertical structures, community infrastructure, project management, construction management, QA/QC.
  • Education: Basic, vocational, youth and adult education, workforce development, education partnerships, training, gender equality.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide overall project leadership, strategic guidance, managerial and technical oversight with overall responsibility for achieving cost effective, timely, contractually compliant project results and impacts;
  • Oversee the establishment of effective project reporting, monitoring and evaluation, financial management, personnel and procurement systems;
  • Represent the project to donor, government counterparts, NGO’s, and other stakeholders, building collaboration and strong working relationships;
  • Supervise senior project technical and administrative staff; and
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of project reports including ad hoc quarterly and financial reports.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree, Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the appropriate technical field.
  • 3+ years of direct management experience as a Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party on a donor funded international development project.
  • Work proficiency in English, Foreign language competency preferred.
