Devex is assisting a leading global health organization in identifying candidates for a Chief of Party position for a Health Service Delivery project in Bangladesh.
This organization focuses on the provision and access to sexual and reproductive health services for communities worldwide. It provides women, men, and adolescents with a range of health services and strives to strengthen access to family planning, and advocates for sound reproductive health policies to improve the rights and lives of the people we serve.
Devex is seeking qualified candidates for a Chief of Party role to lead a Health Service Delivery Project in Bangladesh. The anticipated USAID-funded project will focus on supporting 20-25 local NGO partners to offer the Essential Services Package in Population, Health, and Nutrition to approximately 20M people across Bangladesh. This project will also emphasize behavior change communications (BCC) and community mobilization and institutional strengthening of local partners. Please note that this position is contingent upon project award and funding. The anticipated length of this project is five years and expected to start in October 2012.
Position Description
The COP provides strategic leadership and managerial oversight of the administrative, programmatic, technical, and operational aspects of the Project. S/he oversees the day-to-day work of the project and is responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources to achieve project targets. The COP is accountable for all aspects of the Project’s effective management, including financial and budgetary oversight, timely implementation of activities, and stakeholder relationship management. S/he prominently positions Pathfinder as a leader in global health technical areas and as a successful partner in the development and cost effective implementation of donor-funded programs. The COP is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with USAID and other donors, Government agencies, and other programs operating in Bangladesh.
