Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is currently seeking candidates for a Chief of Party (COP) position for an anticipated USAID-funded Health Strategic Information Activity in India. This project will provide strategic leadership at national, state and district levels to strengthen the policy environment and improve data-based decision making to improve the health outcomes for key national programs.
The COP should have the strategic vision, leadership qualities, technical expertise, professional reputation, management experience, and excellent interpersonal skills to fulfill the diverse managerial requirements of the project. The COP will manage the technical teams, ensuring coordination of project goals across the entire project effort. The COP will serve as the direct contact to the USAID/India Mission and will work collaboratively with the Ministry of Health, local counterparts and other international donors. Responsibilities include liaising daily with senior government officials to enhance innovation to improve data for decision making at all levels, providing technical advice, participating in and managing technical working groups.
Qualifications:
■ Advanced postgraduate degree in Public health, Public Policy, Health and/or Information Systems, Health Economics, or related field, PhD preferred
■ Chief of party experience on USAID-funded projects or other donor experience preferred
■ Minimum 15 years professional experience in developing countries, collaborating with governments and with donor-funded work
■ Minimum 10 years in senior leadership position in South Asia, preferably in India
■ Demonstrated experience managing large scale complex programs
■ Demonstrated experience and understanding of health information systems, health policy and technology in health or related area strongly preferred
■ Knowledge of multiple health areas, including FP/RH, MNCH, TB, and HIV/AIDS
■ Strong verbal and written communication skills
■ Fluency in English; Indian nationality a plus
