CAMRIS International is a global health and international development company that provides technical assistance, program management services and support to U.S. Government agencies, such as the U.S.
Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Defense (DoD), as well as international organizations and private sector clients.

CAMRIS is currently accepting applications for a Chief of Party position to lead andmanage an upcoming USAID project.  The project intends to strengthen the agriculture value chain in Kenya by investingin and testing promising innovations that have potential for scalability. The project will involve a range of actors in the agricultural supply chain as well as the government and private sector.

The Chief of Party will be primarily responsible for coordinating the roles and responsibilities among implementing partners in Kenya, as well as managing grants and appropriating funds for each task. Qualified candidates will possess a deep understanding of the agricultural value chains in Kenya as well as substantial experience establishing public-private sector partnerships and fostering networks.  As the Kenya-based manager of this project, the Chief of Party will engage with both the private and public sectors, and serve as a liaison between USAID/Kenya and CAMRIS International.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing Senior level  leadership, management, and
     administration of grant awards
  • Coordinating  partners in Kenya in specified deliverables and tasks
  • Overseeing grants managementand disbursement of USAID funds
  • Working in close collaboration with USAID/Kenya to identify innovations
  • Working in close collaboration with CAMRIS International headquarters-based team to ensure USG compliance
  • Leveraging private sectorresources to ensure sustainable funding for scalable innovations
  • Providing technical insight and guidance in identification of innovations that improve  the agriculture value chain as well as
    nutrition-related services and behaviors
  • Hiring relevant staff for the project as needed

 

  • Monitoring project implementation and achievement of results

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Management, Public Administration, or relevant field
  • 10 years of experience in project management
  • Knowledge of agricultural sector and value chain management
  • Knowledge of nutrition projects and approaches
  • Strong capabilities and proven experience in grant management
  • Demonstrated experience working with USAID and/or other USG agencies
  • Reading, Writing, Speaking fluency in English is required
  • Experience working in areas of public health, nutrition, water and sanitation, and/or gender is a plus.
