Chief of Party, Social Service Delivery

CHF International is seeking a Chief of Party for an anticipated USAID-funded Poverty Alleviation project in Jordan.  This program will focus on improving the delivery of social services, particularly health and education services, to the urban poor in specific municipalities in Jordan. Activities will include building the capacity to effectively deliver social services at the municipal level.  The Chief of Party will provide overall management and general technical direction for the entire program. S/he will serve as a representative to the program, liaising with the donor as well as government entities in Jordan, and other partners. This position will be responsible for the program achieving target results, and will identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent experience in International Development, education, public administration, social work or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party on large, multi-year USAID-funded programs focusing on poverty alleviation and/or social service delivery
• Prior experience working on programs focusing on institutional capacity for improved service delivery at the municipal level
• In-depth knowledge of USAID programmatic, compliance and reporting requirements. Innovative program development and management skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills in English, abilities in Arabic preferred
• Excellent financial management skills.
• Previous experience working in Jordan and/or the Middle East strongly preferred
