Civil Society Coordinator, Panama (Consultant)

The Civil Society Coordinator, based in Panama City, Panama, will be responsible for managing activities with civil society organizations (“CSOs”) under an anticipated 16-month grant-funded program intended to strengthen civil society’s capacity to promote the rule of law in Panama, especially with regard to the country’s transition to an accusatorial criminal justice system.


This person will work with CSOs to strengthen their capacity to more effectively support justice and transparency reforms in Panama, by providing technical assistance and conducting outreach activities. The desirable candidate will have pre-existing contacts with key CSOs and justice sector institutions in Panama.


A bachelor’s degree in law, political science, public policy, management or a related field is required, and a graduate degree is preferred. Work experience with CSOs in Panama is desirable.


Fluency in both speaking/reading/writing Spanish is required. Additional fluency in English is preferred.
