Clean Energy Specialist

Tetra Tech E.S. Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech dedicated to international development, is currently recruiting for a Clean Energy Specialist.

The successful candidate will work closely with and report directly to Tetra Tech’s Clean Energy Team to identify and lead the development and implementation of alternative energy projects, particularly from biomass (e.g., municipal, industrial or agricultural wastes.)

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee small to medium size teams in the design, development, and implementation of anaerobic digester systems.

  • Lead the development of resource assessments, due diligence, feasibility studies, technology evaluation, market assessments, policy evaluations, and economic analysis.

  • Manage the development of capacity building efforts through training and workshops.

  • Document and report on project activities, prepare position papers and technical review documents to assist in sharing project successes and lessons learned

  • Identify new clients and business opportunities, take a lead role in project management of the work, and manage client relationships.

     
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 of years experience in clean energy, renewable energy, and/or environmental management, focusing on climate change mitigation technologies.

  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of methane capture programs and technologies strongly preferred.

  • Practice in developing countries, such as Latin America or Asia, required.

  • Understanding of international donors, such as USAID or World Bank, strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with both public and private sector clients and with sub-contractors desired.

  • Successfully managed small to medium size teams.

  • Capability in preparing reports and technical studies for clients.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish required; additional French fluency preferred.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite preferred.

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field required.

  • Ability to travel to developing countries up to 35% of the time required.
