Deputy Chief of Party, Washington, D.C.

 

We are currently seeking a Deputy Chief of party to for a multi-national USAID Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS Net) project.  The position is contingent on ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program and will be based in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in joint marketing activities before and after the solicitation to brand the consortium as composed of reliable, responsive parties who collaborate with each other;
  • Coordinate with recruitment to ensure ACDI/VOCA has an appropriate staff  and short term technical assistance for project startup and implementation activities;
  • Manage ACDI/VOCA's organizational interests during task order solicitations to ensure that we are meeting clients expectations while maintaining ACDI/VOCA's internal quality standards;
  • Participate in developing and finalizing a strategic response to task order solicitations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10  years  experience in managing large projects in Africa, South America and/or South East Asia that focus on early warning systems, geographic mapping and/or disaster assistance;
  • Minimum of master's degree in business administration, geography, anthropology, international affairs, business management, agri-business or related field;
  • Experience managing large multi-national projects;
  • Previous experience managing USAID Indefinite Quantities Contracts (IQCs) is strongly preferred;
  • Foreign language proficiency in Spanish and/or French is preferred.
  • Strong communications skills (oral, written, cross-cultural) is desired;
