Description

Chemonics International seeks a finance manager for the USAID-funded Behavioral and Social Change Communication Program in Zambia. The program aims to develop sustainable human and institutional capacity for information, education, and communication/behavior change communication (IEC/BCC) across the areas of HIV/AIDS; malaria; family planning and reproductive health; and maternal, newborn, and child health. Responsibilities include: manage all finances related to the implementation of project activities; and provide management support and oversight in finance, human resources, information technology, and procurement. The position will be based in Lusaka.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree business administration, finance, organizational management, or other relevant field
  • Minimum six years of financial management experience in the public or private sector in developing or transitional countries, preferably on large international health or development projects 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting, financial planning and management, and procurement required 
  • Familiarity with compliance to USAID or U.S. government cost accounting standards
  • Experience in developing and managing large, complex budgets 
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and databases
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communications skills 
  • Demonstrated supervisory skill and ability to work well on teams
  • Ability to travel extensively to program locations within Zambia
