PSI seeks a dynamic intern with an interest in knowledge management and organizational development to support the Global Capacity Building (GCB) Department. PSI offers flexible working hours and a dynamic, creative, and progressive work environment. This paid full-time 12 week internship will be based in Washington, D.C. and will begin as soon as possible and no later than January 19th, 2010.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with developing and implementing a calculator to measure the impact of training
  • Assist with designing and implementing management standards and best practices for each department within PSI
  • Developing, posting, and managing content for PSI's internal knowledge management system
  • Researching and recommending training techniques and instructional methods for the PSI
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (ie Strategic Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Management, Education, Spanish, French, International Relations, Public Health)
  • French and/or Spanish skills a plus
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign a plus
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and willingness to take initiative

The successful candidate will have excellent writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural skills and a demonstrated ability to perform a variety of tasks on short notice within designated deadlines. The candidate must have an interest in strategic communications and organizational development as well as non-profit work. The intern should be willing to work 40 hours per week and a stipend commensurate with the candidate's experience will be provided. Graduate and undergraduate candidates will be considered.
