Deputy Chief of Party, Haiti

CHF International seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for an anticipated long-term program in Haiti. The goal of the project will be to facilitate more productive and inclusive value chains in construction, textile/apparel and agribusiness to increase economic growth and increase long-term employment opportunities in Port-au-Prince, Cap Haitien and Saint-Marc.

The DCOP, reporting to the Chief of Party, will be responsible for providing strategic vision and oversight to project and supervising key technical and administrative operations staff. S/he will coordinate with partner organizations, headquarters operations, local officials, and the donor to ensure compliance with all objectives, policies, and regulations are timely and successful and serve as acting Chief of Party when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, International Development or other relevant field required.
  • 5+years of progressive management experience working with donor organizations preferably USAID.
  • Minimum eight years of experience working with major international development programs in coutries which have experienced conflict, preferably Haiti.
  • 5+ years of experience in the value chain development.
  • Relevant technical background in value chains, preferably in the areas of agriculture, textile/apparel and/or construction.
  • Prior experience with workforce development programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Clear leadership and excellent administrative skills.
  • Creativity and adaptability, team-work oriented.
  • Ability to rapidly develop and consolidate excellent and independent relationships with private sector and other technical partners.
  • Capable of problem solving and overcoming resistance to change.
  • Fluency in English and French required, Haitian Creole a plus.
