Salary:                                GBP 35,000- 40,000
per annum, depending on experience.

Summary:       Under the management of the RI-UK
Director and the RI Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance and
Administration is responsible for planning, directing and controlling financial
administrative functions for RI-UK. This includes preparing and monitoring the annual
budget; conducting financial analysis and preparing management accounts;
ensuring accurate and timely financial information from our country offices
worldwide; and maintaining accurate and current statutory records.



POSITION &
REQUIREMENTS




  • Analyse and present financial
    reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and
    annual financial statements; and work with colleagues in the RI-UK finance team
    to ensure accurate and timely project accounting.

  • Oversee and lead annual
    budgeting and strategic planning process in conjunction with the RI-UK
    Director; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor
    progress and changes and keep the RI Chief Financial Officer abreast of the RI-UK’s
    financial status.

  • Manage the organisations cash
    flow and forecasting.

  • Update and implement all
    necessary organisational policies and accounting practices;

  • Effectively communicate and
    present all critical financial matters to the Finance Committee of the Board of
    Trustees.

  • Coordinate and lead the annual
    statutory audit process, including liaison and reporting to the Finance
    Committee of the Board of Trustees; and assess and implement any changes
    necessary.

  • Oversee RI-UK’s risk
    management and internal audit functions

  • Ensure employee contracts and terms
    of reference are complete and current.

  • Evaluate the adequacy of
    existing human resource policies and procedures and recommend new ones to the
    RI-UK Director.

  • Oversee administrative functions
    including physical and online back-up filing systems for all audit and
    organisational documentation.





















 



 



QUALIFICATIONS
and REQUIREMENTS:



This
is a great opportunity for an experienced Director of Finance and
Administration with at least five years of accounting and finance experience,
ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience in
administration and human resource management. S/he will ideally have experience
of working in a complex non-profit organisation that has multiple programmes.
Other qualifications include:




  • Personal
    qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to RI’s mission;
    proactive, hands-on and confident communicator who will work with finance
    colleagues across the global organisation.

  • Financial
    qualification (ACA or equivalent).

  • Solid
    experience coordinating statutory audit activities and managing reporting,
    budget development, and analysis.

  • A
    track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of
    government, corporate and foundations grants.

  • Experience
    with Sun Systems and QuickBooks is a very strong preference.

  • Strong
    interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating
    key data, including presentations.

  • Ability
    and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels
    including finance and non-finance managers.

  • Ability
    to travel overseas occasionally as required.

  • UK/European
    citizenship or valid UK residency required
