El Salvador - Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

The Citizen Safety for El Salvador: Crime and Violence Prevention Project is a new project that will promote multi-sectoral coordination at the community/local, national and regional levels to achieve a reduction in violence and crime. The strategy of this project aims to decrease a youth violence-seeking generation of identity for young people, while at the same time providing training and employment opportunities.

Position Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will be responsible for the M&E plan and all reporting systems of the program. The M&E Specialist will be expected to train program staff to ensure proper data is collected and ensure adequate performance indicators and output, outcome and impact data is collected in the targeted geographic and thematic areas. The M&E Specialist will produce all required reports on program status impact, including success stories, press releases, etc. The M&E Specialist will be expected to liaise closely with stakeholders regarding specific reporting needs.  

 

Reporting & Supervision:

The M&E Specialist will report to the Chief of Party.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field; Master’s,or Ph.D. desired.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English skills (FSI IV).
  • Experience working in Central America.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation activities for donor-funded initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in developing M&E systems and overseeing the collection and analysis of metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in training on M&E systems and data collection.
