Environmental Safeguard Expert

NRECA International seeks an experienced Environmental Safeguard Expert for a large-scale power utility improvement project in Pakistan. This multi-year project will provide project identification and project implementation monitoring services to eight power distribution companies, ensuring compliance with the procedures of a multilateral development bank making a $810 million investment.  The Environmental Safeguard Expert will be responsible for establishing project procedures for the conduct of environmental compliance procedures as part of project preparation and implementation, in conformity with ADB requirements.  Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications:

• At least 10 years experience, including prior experience in implementation of projects utilizing ADB financing.
• Demonstrated understanding of the ADB’s Environment Policy and safeguard procedures.
• Fluency in English, written and oral.
• A Master’s degree in Environmental Science.  
• Experience working in Pakistan, or more generally South Asia or Central Asia, on related projects is of added advantage.
