KPMG Development Advisory Services (DAS) is a pan-African practice operating in several countries across the continent. DAS offers consulting services to donor agencies, Governments, NGOs and Private Sector.
DAS work covers five broad areas:
- Programme Management Services (PMS),
- Fund/Grant and Programme Management,
- Capacity Building (including Public Sector Reform & Decentralisation),
- Public Financial Management (PFM),
- Development Projects Audit and
- Private Sector Development.
DAS sectoral focus areas are, but no limited to, Agriculture and Rural Development, HIV/AIDS and Health sector, Economic Development, Development Finance, Education and Energy and Natural Resources (ENR). DAS main clients are: DFID, USAID, Danida, SIDA, NORAD, The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MCA UN agencies, WBG and AfDB.
KPMG DAS is currently seeking Programme Directors, Technical Experts and Monitoring band Evaluation Experts for several forthcoming donor funded projects in Southern Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Botswana) across our focus areas.

Programme Directors/Team Leader
|
|
Qualifications:
|
Qualification & Skills:
- Post graduate degree in development, social sciences, human rights, governance and law or other relevant field;
- Proven team management and communication skills;
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), with other languages used in Southern Africa are of advantage
General professional experience:
- At least 10 years of general experience, with a minimum of 6 years subject-related work experience in a leading position as Technical Expert or Team Leader
- Expertise in technical and financial programme management, preferably related to development cooperation (e.g. community development, civil society capacity building, human rights, good governance, decentralisation, civic education, private sector development and health)
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in programme management, including strategic development, publicity, institutional assessments, appraisal and approval of grant applications, financial management and reporting, monitoring, evaluation and lessons learned
- Experience in grants/fund management and grants assessment
- Experience of working with donors agencies such as Irish Aid, CIDA, DFID, MCA, USAID, SIDA, NORAD, WB and EU
- Experience in dealing with multi-sectoral institutions.

- Expertise in technical fields relevant to KPMG DAS
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in designing and managing donor funded programmes
- Experience in providing technical inputs and advice in specific field of specialization
- Experience of working with the major donors such as Irish Aid, CIDA, DFID, SIDA, WB and EU

Qualification & Skills:
- Post graduate degree in development economics, sustainable development, international relations, social sciences, civil society and governance, governance and law or other relevant field;
- Proven ability to manage teams and communication skills;
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), with other languages used in Southern Africa are of advantage
General professional experience:
- At least 8 years of general experience, with a minimum of 5 years subject-related work experience in a leading position as Knowledge Management and Performance Monitoring Expert
- Expertise in designing and implementing M&E frameworks with reference to the logical framework and management for results approach.
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in designing and implementation of development programmes in relation to knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, management for results and result based approach.
- Experience of working with the major donors such as Irish Aid, CIDA, DFID, SIDA, WB and EU
- Experience in dealing with multi-sectoral institutions involved in the southern Africa context
