Summary: 

Counterpart International is currently seeking an intern ­to ­support our Program Development team. This is a full time position based in Arlington, Virginia. This position will report to the Director of Program Development.  

 Duties and Responsibilities:

The intern’s primary responsibility will be to:

  • Assist Counterpart staff in developing proposals for future programming:
  • Provide desk research;
  • Draft organizational capacity statements;
  • Support the recruitment of key and non-key personnel;
  • Draft consulting agreements;
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to staff traveling abroad.
    Assist with reporting to donors on current programs;
  • Editing field reports;
  • Providing research support to ongoing program;
  • Other tasks as needed.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates for this internship will be able to work five (5) days a week (minimum 30 hours) and will have the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree in international affairs, international development, public policy or a related field;
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills;
  • Solid research skills and ability to analyze and write project assessments and reports
  • Strong computer skills – particularly in MS Office including document formatting; chart and graph creation and spreadsheet / budget creation;
  • Strong English writing and editing skills;
  • Prior work experience in international development strongly preferred;
  • Firm understanding and familiarity with Africa and the Middle East strongly preferred.
  • Foreign language skills in either French, Spanish/or Arabic strongly preferred.
