With a growing presence in North and West Africa, Global South Group is looking for individuals and businesses with experience in a range of sectors for existing and potential projects on a short or long-term basis.

If you are suited to an independent approach that reflects the needs of clients in the Global South, if you feel that development consulting is as much about learning as it is about passing on knowledge, GSG is actively seeking experts, both junior and senior, in the following fields:

 1.       Project Managers:

 Project/Program Design associated with Logical Framework approach and capacity to dispense training in the field;

• Design of monitoring systems with targeted indicator sets relevant to sector and local context. Roll-out of these systems and capacity to dispense training throughout sectors and institutions;
• Project/Program Management with monitoring tools, administration, reporting and capacity to dispense training in the field;
• Design of Spending Frameworks and Sector Budgets for large institutions and national sectors. Roll-out of those budget tools and capacity to dispense training in the field;
• Communication including proposal development, internal and managerial communication, basic media training, and external written communication.

 2.       Technical experts in the following fields with experience in the Middle East and Africa:

• Security and Border Management with relevant knowledge of the regions GSG operates in;
• Crisis and Recovery in the Health and Education Sectors;
• Private Sector development, business regulation, export promotion; enabling business environments
• Agricultural & Fisheries development and sector strategy design, value chain experts;
• Energy and Power, notably development of supply networks, renewable energies;
• Human Development monitoring and evaluation;
• Governance legislative/judicial reform, public administration reform, transitional justice, and community development.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• At least five years of experience with challenging field operations in developing countries.
• Command of Arabic (MSA and spoken forms), African languages, Portuguese, Spanish and French are an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred.

ENVIRONMENT

• Living and work conditions may sometimes be remote and uncomfortable
• Long hours
• Must be ready to travel and re-locate on short notice
