CHF seeks a Senior Communications Specialist for a six month short term contract.  The Senior Communications Specialist will produce communications materials and outreach for private sector audiences in order to diversify CHF International’s funding sources and awareness of our work among corporate audiences.  S/he will work with the Communications Manager, the Resource Development Manager and other colleagues to develop CHF’s Corporate Engagement Strategy; produce communications materials aimed at the Private Sector across multiple media; and liaise with Private Sector partners regarding messaging, branding and other pertinent areas.  Additionally the Specialist will undertake PR campaigns based on CHF’s work with the Private Sector; work with colleagues to arrange conferences and events involving the Private Sector; and manage vendors and contractors such as a PR Agency, external designers and printers.


 


Rrequired Skills

  • Minimum five years experience in Communications and Media Relations, in a private sector setting or working directly with the private sector. Experience with multinational corporations preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant subject (English, Communications, Business, Marketing).

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to write and edit compelling text in standard written English targeted at specific audiences. 

  • Knowledge of multinational corporations operating in the developing world desirable.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with US business media required; experience with international business media desirable.

  • Must be able to manage a broad portfolio of projects simultaneously and work with minimum supervision to complete projects and meet deadlines.

  • Willing to travel internationally to areas of political instability to complete projects and provide technical assistance.

  • Knowledge and experience of desktop publishing, web design and new media desirable.
