Visiting Professor of Development Practice

The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) of Georgetown University invites applications for a three-year, non-tenure track position as a visiting member of the faculty (rank open, depending on qualifications) beginning in July 2012. This position will have teaching and administrative responsibilities in SFS’s new Master’s in Global Human Development (MGHD) Program. The successful candidate will have a record of professional experience in international development and social policy, working in and with national governments, international organizations and/or relevant for-profit or non-profit institutions. The Visiting Professor will normally teach three courses each academic year. Working closely with relevant faculty, staff and alumni, the Visiting Professor will guide the curricular and career-oriented development of MGHD students through course work, internships and the summer work experience. The search committee has particular interest in candidates with graduate teaching experience as well as a substantial record as a successful development practitioner.
