SID-Washington Fall Internship

Fall Internship: September 1 - December 17

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in program development, such as with Chapter Programs featuring high-level panelists and workgroup programs
• Assist in planning, logistics, and sponsorship for the 2011 World Congress
• Serve as a liaison with SID-Washington's more than 20 sectoral and regional workgroups
• Write about the Chapter’s program and Workgroup activities to be published on our website
• Develop outreach materials and website
• Add to and maintain our database;
• Work with Communications Officer on website related issues
• Perform general administrative duties (including answering phones, handling mail, drafting correspondence, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Academic and/or work experience in international development preferred
• Ability to solve problems creatively, undertake detail oriented work, and work well as a member of a team
• Possess initiative and the ability to work independently
• Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and retain a positive outlook under pressure
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Sense of humor required.

A STIPEND OF $1,000 WILL BE AWARDED UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE INTERNSHIP.
