Project title: Technical Assistance Services for EU–Indonesia Trade Cooperation Facility
Brief description: The overall objective of the EU-Indonesia Trade Cooperation Facility, of which this project will be a part, is to support sustainable economic development in Indonesia.
The purpose of the project is to support the EU Delegation and the Government of Indonesia in the implementation of the EU-Indonesia Trade Cooperation Facility. The project Specific Objective is to strengthen the capacity of government institutions to pursue reform initiatives in selected areas related to the improvement of trade and investment climate in Indonesia. The programme will have an indirect impact on poverty reduction in the country, as through the improvement of trade and investment climate and the sustainability of economic growth there will be a positive effect in income levels and employment.
Commencement date of the project: April 2012
Duration of the assignment: 726 work days over 54 months
Requirements:
Qualifications and skills:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience in Economics or International Trade
- Excellent verbal and written command of English
- Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia would be an added advantage
- Excellent communication, mobilisation and change management skills
- Proven ability to develop solid partnerships with high level officials in order to achieve project results
General professional experience:
- At least 7 years of professional experience in trade and investment matters, particularly in the areas of trade and investment policy, improvement of trade and investment climate and trade and investment facilitation
- Experience in technical assistance projects in support of trade and investment gained in developing countries, preferably in Asia
- Relevant professional experience in Indonesia would be an added advantage
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in institutional strengthening of public agencies involved in trade and investment policy matters
- Experience in organising, managing and facilitating training for public agencies
- Having good knowledge in the conduct of trade and investment policy in EU countries
- Having a good network or capability to set up network with training institutions or universities in EU countries
- Exposure to topics which are key to improvement of Indonesia’s investment climate: infrastructure, logistics, labour market, would be an advantage
- Familiarity with public-private-partnership investment arrangements particularly in the infrastructure sector would be an advantage
