Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist – Zambia

CHF is seeking a Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist for an anticipated Zambia Economic Resilience Program for Improved Food Security (ZERS) program which will implement innovative strategies and approaches to enable vulnerable and poor rural households as well as the very poor to improve food security through strengthened economic resilience.

The Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist will supervise all monitoring and evaluation and communications staff, and will develop and manage the M&E system and communications activities for the program, and will provide technical guidance as required at all levels of the program, including the training of staff and partners. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for: implementing and updating the Performance Management Plan to ensure consistent data collection and management and tie program objectives to broader USAID Strategic Objectives; managing the data collection process to include schedules, logistics and methodologies in coordination with data collection teams and other staff; analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data; and reporting on activities, accomplishments, and results for USAID deliverables and reports including weekly, quarterly, annual, and other communications materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in donor-funded international development.
  • Experience with rigorous quantitative and qualitative research methods, tools, techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of advanced statistics and research methodology, including skills in sampling techniques and methodologies, professional use of computer software for statistical and other relevant applications (such as SPSS, STATA and spreadsheets).
  • Prior experience on donor funded projects addressing food security, nutrition, or economic resilience preferred;
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, ACCESS and/or other database programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in and outside CHF; ability to work effectively in multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by previous materials developed.
  • Fluency in English required.
