Project/Proposal Summary: 

The Civil Society Support project (ECSS) is a three-year program designed to build the organizational and management capacity of Egyptian civil society organizations (CSO).

 

A part of USAID’s Egypt Democracy and Governance Program and implemented by a consortium of partners: MSI, AED and IREX, the project provides technical assistance and support to individual Egyptian civic organizations to advocate for citizens’ interests and take action. The project’s objectives are to provide management support to USAID for its civil society portfolio, support capacity building for USAID grantees and support Egypt’s civic organizations. 

The project’s officials help civic organizations develop skills in building bridges between citizens and their government with innovative tools and customized training.

 

Position Summary:

Management Systems International is recruiting for a Management Information Systems/Networking Coordinator for the USAID-funded Civil Society Support (CSS) Task Order under REDI-Civil Society Media IQC in Egypt. The Coordinator will be based in Cairo, Egypt and may be required to travel within Cairo and other locations in Egypt. H/she is expected to work with the Chief of Party to ensure proper administration and coordination of the MIS and online networking databases for the Egypt Civil Society Task Order.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support MSI and USAID staff in utilizing Portfolio database
  • Generate ad hoc reports as required from Portfolio database
  • Communicate with local staff and development team to coordinate change requests
  • Enhance database system as needed in coordination with software development team
  • Support data migration from other formats
  • Support evaluation officers with data collection and entry
  • Manage project listservs
  • Manage project’s section of the NGOConnect website
  • Support project staff’s needs relative to the project Sharepoint site
  • Support technology needs of MSI local team including file server management, desktop    
    • support and coordination with DC technology support
  • Manage staff internal IT issues
  • Be prepared to provide presentations to USAID
  • Conduct MIS training for grantees and USAID users
  • Data entry

 

Qualifications:

  • Relational database experience (4 years or more) preferably MS SQL Server 2003+
    • Experience importing and manipulating data from various sources into an existing relational model
  • Web-based application development experience (4 years or more) preferably Adobe ColdFusion 6+
  • Experience with Access databases in a multi-user environment (4 years or more)
  • Prefer experience working with Monitoring and Evaluation teams in an international development setting
  • Experience collecting and communicating requirements between clients and developers
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations; particularly multi-cultural teams
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Residency in Egypt required
