Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision and general guidance of the PFP Chief of Communication, you will be responsible for the conceptualization, planning, execution, and monitoring and evaluation of an internal communication strategy for the UNICEF Division of Private Fundraising & Partnerships. In that context, internal communication means the information flow within the Division and between National Committees, Country Offices, NYHQ and other parts of the UNICEF.

Key Expected Results
1. You will develop, plan, monitor and evaluate the PFP internal communication strategy in support of UNICEF’s mission, objectives and brand but with particular focus on PFP’s three year strategic plan and its fundraising, advocacy and brand positioning objectives. This includes communication assessment and analysis, development of communication plans, strategic use of resources and involvement in key organizational processes. You will monitors and evaluate its impact.

2. You will lead development and implementation of the necessary information architecture and internal communication structures to enable the use of tools that facilitate a two-way flow of information and facilitate knowledge sharing among the different target groups (PFP staff, National Committees, Regional Offices, Country Offices and NYHQ).

3. You will maintain oversight and monitor PFP’s intranet site in collaboration with other PFP Sections so that it reflects a common identity and voice, avoids duplication of efforts and materials, and simplifies communication resource management and retrieval in support of fundraising, advocacy and brand positioning efforts.

4. You will ensure efficient exchange of information between PFP Sections and the rest of the UNICEF, contributing to better understanding and awareness of PFP’s work, achievements and challenges within UNICEF as a whole. You will facilitate a high level of knowledge and understanding of National Committees’ work and achievements within UNICEF.

5. You will develop strong partnerships with colleagues and teams whose support is essential to the achievement of the internal communication objectives, and strengthens their own capacity to communicate internally through appropriate training, access to updated information, supplies and equipment, and experience-sharing.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information management or a related communication discipline combined with solid experience of information management and internal communications work.

Eight years of experience in the communication area, including recent direct involvement in the implementation of internal communication strategies and the setting up of internal communication mechanisms.

Thorough knowledge of current theories and practices regarding internal communication research, planning and strategy including digital communication.

Fluency in English and another UN language, preferably French.
