Administer, evaluate and improve the emergency service agreements, medical and dental retainer contracts, and other health services required by ADB staff. Work within general policies, principles and goals, working directly with clients.
a. Health management
- Provide adequate, timely and up-to-date medical assistance to staff and dependents by effectively managing the Medical and Dental Retainer Program.
- Provide daily medical consultations and advice as requested by staff.
- Review existing medical programs periodically to evaluate their effectiveness and identify improvements. Develop new programs as necessary.
- Provide professional advice and recommendations to HR in health-related issues.
b. Medical travel
- Recommend and implement guidelines, policies and procedures governing medical travel.
c. Health services administration
- Supervise and administer the emergency service agreements, medical and dental retainer contracts, and other health services as required.
- Supervise and administer the in-house medical and dental centers.
- Review and evaluate the Resident Missions’ (RMs’) local medical facilities and establish and implement necessary guidelines.
- Communicate medical services benefits to ADB staff.
- Review and recommend any changes to the health services provisions, systems, policies and procedures to promote timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of service delivery.
- Receive, investigate and follow-up staff complaints about health services and related issues.
d. Staff Supervision
- Take the role of team leader and supervise the work of team members
- Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance
- Ensure the ongoing learning and development of reporting staff
Doctor of Medicine with valid medical license issued by a recognized medical body.
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in benefits or related work
- Proven management and leadership qualities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- International experience working in several countries
