Assessment of Fisheries Sector in Yemen

The overall strategic objective of the technical assistance is to prepare an accurate assessment of the current situation of the Fisheries resources in Yemen. This study will constitute the basis on which a new sustainable Fisheries Sector Strategy will be formulated in a subsequent study. The assessment will also provide useful information for the EC in identifying critical areas in which the future EC assistance can focus its efforts in the coming fisheries programme.

Five experts are required for this assignment:

• 1- Senior Economics and Fisheries Expert / Team Leader (50 days).
• 2- Senior Fisheries / Aquaculture Expert (40 days).
• 3- Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (40 days).
• 4- Expert in Fishery Information System (40 days).
• 5- Expert in Private Sector Development

The intended commencement date is 16^th January 2010, and the period of implementation of the contract will be 80 days from this date.
