Job Description
WYG International is currently managing the Project Management Unit of the Intra-ACP Facility fir Migrations, a project funded by the European Union and managed by the ACP Secretariat.

The project's aim is to offer technical assistant to the ACP States to help them better understand and manage their migration flows, as well as integrate migration issues into national and regional policy, including for economic, social and cultural development.

The implementation of the Facility takes place in the six ACP Regions areas and 12 pilot countries (two per region), through Technical Assistants working with the mandates regional organisations, the national institutions in pilot countries, and well as with civil society.

We are currently recruiting Technical Assistants, at both regional and national (pilot country) level. Specifically, the following positions are still open:

  • West Africa, working with the mandated regional organisation;
  • East Africa, working in the two pilot countries, Kenya and Tanzania;
  • Southern Africa, working with the mandated regional organisation;
  • Southern Africa, working in the two pilot countries, Angola and Lesotho;
  • Pacific, working in the two pilot countries, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.

These are full time positions, based in 10.5 working months per calendar year, until end of June 2013. Technical Assistants should start working as soon as possible.


Requirements

Required profile:

  • University diploma in administrative sciences (public management, public law,…) or in social sciences (economy, political sciences, demography,…) or the equivalent high-level experience;
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the following fields: public sector/government entities institutional capacity building, support to civil society, reforms of State or ACP institutions, development policy, state governance and legal issues, migration issues;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French. For Southern Africa, Portuguese would be an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of the ACP regions and countries, in particularly the region in question;
  • For the Technical Assistants working in the pilot countries, experience of at least one of the two countries;
  • For the Technical Assistants working with the mandated regional organisation, experience of working with/in an ACP regional organisation
  • Experience in the implementation of development projects and/or public policy project in ACP States;
  • Experience of intra-ACP migration issues;
·               Experience of supporting and assisting civil society organisations.
