Duties and Responsibilities:

 

DAI is inviting applications for a Policy Assistant for Poverty Policy Fund (PPF) in India to support evidence generation and uptake on global and national policy issues. The PPF will be a framework Fund which provides small grants to a range of partners, including think tanks, NGOs and private sector organisations.

 

As part of the Project Management Unit, the Policy Assistant will be responsible for engaging with Government actors on policy and advocacy issues.   Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Contributing to the design and implementation of the policy and advocacy aspects of the Poverty Policy Fund
  • Completing literature reviews, policy briefs and other advocacy materials, as required.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum  of 4 years  of professional experience of working on policy and advocacy issues in India is essential
  • Understanding  of the policy making environment in India including different stakeholders involved in policy making and influencing;
  • Understanding of Indian policy making on national development issues, including growth and trade; climate change, resource scarcity and food security; health and disease control; and women and girls, is desirable.
  • Ideally PhD qualification
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Hindi  is essential
