Deputy Chief of Party

Parsons is currently recruiting for a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) position for the USAID SSTCM II Program.  This position would be located full time in Juba, South Sudan. 

Responsibilities: The DCoP is responsible for all programmatic (grants and STTA) aspects of the program as well as for supporting the CoP in managing and overseeing the program. S/he will supervise the activity development and staff; ensure appropriate grant and STTA design; ensure that procedures are established and complied with for grant and STTA development, grant worthiness, grant and STTA implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation, and closing; and be the CoP and COR‘s primary point of contact for current information about activities.

Qualifications: At least four years of experience working on projects in a related role (grants, sub-grants, or small grants under contract, and STTA) and with some demonstrated supervisory experience. The candidate should have experience with activity design as well as development and management of development-type projects. S/he should be familiar with or have considerable experience in community participation-type projects as well as those that are focused on conflict and political transition. The DCoP must have the capacity to understand and analyze national, regional, and local South Sudanese politics; to guide the program staff in creatively designing grants that relate to current conflict dynamics and political events; and to ensure that activities are appropriately implemented, monitored, evaluated, and closed-out. Fluency in English is required. Minimum of a Bachelor‘s degree is required.
