Education Development Center, Inc. Health and Human Development Programs in Asia (EDC HHD Asia) seeks a Project Officer. Under the supervision of Project Manager (PM), the Project Officer will support the project team and directors in the implementation of work in micro-enterprise development, business and technology training, business development, and corporate social responsibility. The Project Officer will be based in the Bangkok office and will be required to travel within the Asia region, as needed.  As a member of project team, the Project Officer will work closely on a set of core projects and also provide support to the project team on other EDC projects.

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage assigned projects including monitoring project implementation by local partners to ensure their adherence to contract and SOW/TOR, conducting monitoring and evaluation missions and participating in project activities as appropriate, building capacity to local partners on project management, and other specific areas as needed and appropriate;
  • Support PM in the design/re-design of project activities as appropriate, implement and accomplish project activities in a timely and accurate manner, conduct grant management functions with related local partners, and prepare project reports according to donor requirements;
  • Assist PM on providing supervision to Project Intern(s) and/or Project Assistant(s)  based in Bangkok Office;
  • Regularly communicate with project team members, local partners and donors;
  • Provide technical assistance to project team members and partner agencies in strategy, sustainable programming and successful business development;
  • Participate in developing and pursuing project’s expansion and sustainability plan;
  • Participate in all internal meetings  related to administrative and operational aspects of the EDC HHD Asia as required;
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned
  •  

    -          University degree, preferably in social sciences, international relations or development studies;

    -          3 years work experience, preferably in an NGO, international organization or MNC;

    -          Demonstrates understanding of International Development, technology and entrepreneurship for micro-enterprises, that are specific to Asia;

    -          Excellent level of computer literacy, preferably including database applications and knowledge of website management;

    -          Excellent communication and report writing skills, experience in proposal writing is an advantage;

    -          Strong interpersonal communications, negotiation, presentations skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment;

    -          Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

    -          Ability to work on multi-tasks and to meet deadlines;

    -          Fluent in English, speaking Thai is an advantage.
