The United States Peace Corps is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Specialist for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, located in the Office of Global Health and HIV (OGH/H).
The Peace Corps Director created the Office of Global Health and HIV (OGH/H) to secure and manage world class human, financial and technical resources that promote excellence in health and HIV programming through support to headquarters offices and post in the field, strengthen and enrich the service of Volunteers, and improve the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities where Volunteers serve. The full-time staff in OGH/H work closely with the Peace Corps Regional offices, the Office of Programming and Training Support (OPATS), and all other offices involved in health and HIV/AIDS to support the agencys priorities of quality growth, innovation, and the third goal. OGH/H seeks a public health professional with experience working with issues related to orphans and vulnerable children in a cross-cultural or international setting, and preferably with familiarity with PEPFAR. The ideal candidate would have experience designing and implementing training curricula, using monitoring and evaluation tools for assessing impact, and providing ongoing technical assistance to implementers. The candidate would: Leverage Peace Corps strengths and contribute to a measurable impact on the HIV epidemic. Support context-appropriate programming related to the care of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and HIV-affected youth through onsite or virtual technical assistance to Peace Corps Posts. Provide technical assistance to the support and development of training platforms for the care and support of orphans and vulnerable children/youth. Develop and contribute to interagency partnerships and effective working relationships for program growth and implementation of effective OVC/youth responses.
