Position Summary:
The Project Manager, Grants & Contracts is responsible for day to day management of a portfolio of grants and contracts requested and funded by CRDF Global programs and/or external clients including U.S. Government agencies, universities, for-profit companies and other non-profit organizations. Management includes processing incoming award initiations and applications, drafting and issuing grant and contact documentation, reviewing invoices and payment requests, monitoring project financials, and maintaining related files and databases. The work involves maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Reviews incoming grant and contract initiation requests and develops implementation plans for projects.
2. Develops, negotiates and issues contractual instruments. Coordinates the flow of grant and contract documentation.
3. Interprets and applies CRDF Global, funder and USG regulatory policies to carry out day to day administration of assigned grants and contracts.
4. Works with international office staff to ensure grants and contracts are carried out in accordance with host country regulations. Coordinates the host country concurrence process when applicable.
5. Provides high quality, timely support to internal and external clients. Maintains communication with grantees and contractors, funders/clients and program staff counterparts regarding grant and contract status and implementation.
6. Reviews and approves incoming invoices and payment requests for compliance with agreement terms and CRDF Global procedures.
7. Addresses financial and administrative issues that occur during the course of a project. Works with clients and program counterparts to resolve problems. Consults the Senior Manager and Associate Director as non-routine problems occur.
8. Maintains grant and contract files and ensures accurate financial records are kept in the database. Collects statistics for analysis as required.
9. Performs regular financial reconciliation of grant and contract expenses.
10. Assesses current grant and contract management processes and suggests new procedures. Coordinates the implementation of new processes as they are approved by Department management.
