Project Manager - Jordan

Basic Function of Position

The successful candidate for the PM position will lead a team of architects, engineers and engineering sub-consultants throughout the project design, bidding and construction supervision stages. He/she will insure the compliance with the terms of contract agreement with the client and the Ministry of Education’s and Government Buildings Directorate guidelines. He/she   must have demonstrated ability in leadership and large complex project management to lead a multidisciplinary team of staff and subcontractors and an ability to function as the project spokesperson to convey the project vision, goals and objectives. In addition, a solid knowledge of engineering and scientific aspects of design, construction supervision, and experience in schools design schools furniture and equipment, and multi-agency stakeholder coordination. S/he must be energetic, innovative. An understanding of USAID procedures and protocols is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A masters or higher degree in civil engineering  is required. The candidate must be certified professional engineer (PE),
2. At least 15 years of   progressively responsible professional experience in developing countries.
3. The candidate should have managed at least two development programs of school planning, engineering and architecture design and construction management preferably in the Middle East Region.
4. Demonstrated leadership and management ability to supervise complex programs and teams.
5. Must have good understanding of educational systems and school design and needs.
   Specialization in educational facilities will be an advantage.
6. Experience in USAID’s host country construction procurement procedures is an advantage.
7. Must have expert working knowledge of project management, design concepts, and construction practices. 
8. Must have excellent communication and presentations skills in English, and good command of Arabic language is desired
