Regional Finance Director - South Africa

The Regional Finance Director for the Southern Africa Region will provide finance leadership for the region to ensure standards of excellence through financial management, accountability and integrity. You will guide and enable the National Offices/Regional Office, with a focus on ensuring accountability, capacity building of finance staff, coordination of budget and planning processes and review of financial strategies for the region that best serve strategic and program objectives.

The Director will promote an environment of innovation, empowerment and responsible stewardship, and provide leadership for the coordination and management of the region’s Support Services Unit (SSU) for the effective and efficient delivery of support services in the areas of finance, information and communications technology, logistics, executive support and human resources to serve the regional staff, and other WV entities.

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

• Educational level required:   Degree in Finance, Business Admin, or Accounting.  MBA or equivalent preferred
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal accounting controls
• Knowledge of and experience with government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements preferred
• Senior leadership experience in strategic financial management
  
  

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Strategic financial planning and management: Lead the region’s financial planning and budgeting process
• Promotion of financial accountability and reporting: Ensure appropriate financial, monitoring frameworks and internal controls are in place in each National/Regional Office to support WV’s ministry in the region
• Risk management: Promote improved Partnership internal audit results, and enhance and oversee risk management processes
• Capacity building: Conduct capacity assessment of National/Regional Office finance department and mentor/support the NO Finance Directors/RO Finance Manager to understand and meet the service requirements of their roles
