Government
We have the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. AECOM Government Services supports the U.S. federal government with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
Under contract with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), AECOM International Development (AECOM) implements the ADAPT-Asia project to assist eligible Asian countries in gaining improved access finance for climate change adaptation. ADAPT-Asia is establishing a financing facility that provides a combination of technical assistance, capacity building and networking related to accessing climate adaptation funds. ADAPT-Asia also works with regional, international and U.S. partners to share and replicate best practices among national and local stakeholders. Focus countries include Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. The Regional Technical Coordinator will be based in Bangkok, Thailand, but will extensively travel to the project countries.
Primary Responsibilities
From AECOM’s project office in Bangkok, the Regional Technical Coordinator will be responsible for working with developing country governments and funding organizations to coordinate program activities by providing technical assistance related to project preparation, support design and implementation of capacity building activities, assist with organization of regional capacity building and networking activities, and supporting program communications and reporting.
Project Preparation Support
· Assisting with identification of potential project partners and funding agencies
· Scope out technical assistance requirements for the development of specific adaptation projects.
· Assist with preparation of adaptation projects initiated by local partners, including coordinating project preparation teams on in-country missions
· Conduct sectoral and technical assessments and analyses
Capacity Building
· Assist with preparation of content for training materials, toolkits, websites, online courses
Communication and Reporting
Requirements:
· Minimum five years of experience in project preparation with MDBs, especially ADB and World Bank.
· Advanced degree relevant field and technical knowledge in climate change adaptation as relates to infrastructure, coastal management, water resources management, food security, agriculture, gender, etc.
· Experience with capacity building in developing countries
· Strong communications skills in English, including technical writing and presentations
· Previous experience working in Asia strongly preferred
· Ability to travel extensively within Asia
