| International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance. PROGRAM BACKGROUND The Rehabilitation Program (Medical) Coordinator’s prime responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day activities of developing, implementing and managing IMC-Libya’s Rehabilitation Program. This includes conducting ongoing rehab needs assessments, training needs assessments of rehab staff, and ensuring the training of the national rehab staff (PTs, OTs, etc.); providing medical expertise and guidance for the rehabilitation staff; ensuring adequate supplies and equipment for all sites; monitoring and evaluating all rehabilitation activities; and ensuring that the highest international standards of rehabilitative care are met within IMC’s program. Additionally, the IMC Rehabilitation Program Coordinator shall be seconded to the Ministry of Health of the National Transitional Council as a key advisor to the MOH for the planning, development and implementation of countrywide rehabilitation program activities in the future. Must be able to promote the ratification of the UNCRPD and promote the involvement of disabled people throughout the process.
