Objective

Social Impact seeks mid- and senior-level consultants with expertise in sustainable management and development to lead multi-year projects and/or perform short-term technical assistance for a USAID funded indefinite quantity contract, REPLACE.

 Responsibilities may include:

  • Provision of technical assistance to USAID missions abroad and/or to Washington, DC Headquarter offices
  • Contribution of technical writing during the proposal phase
  • Serving as a primary liaison between SI and NGOs, civil society stakeholders, government ministries and USAID
  • Conducting monitoring, assessments and evaluations of USAID-funded sustainable management and development projects and programs
  • Training USAID staff (local and international) and local civil society organizations on issues pertaining to sustainable management and development
  • Travel to participating host countries may be required


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.A.  in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience with sustainable management and development programs in developing countries
  • Program management or technical assistance experience working with USAID missions as well as host country private and public sector organizations
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in other languages highly desirable
  • Demonstrated technical assistance and training experience in one or more of the specialized areas below is desirable:
    •  Biodiversity conservation
    • Sustainable forestry
    • Climate change mitigation and adaptation
    • Sustainable agricultural intensification
    • Management of ecosystem services
    • Sustainable conservation finance
    • Payments for ecosystem services
    • Resource rights, governance, and policy reform
    • Resource based conflict management & mitigation
    • Environmental compliance
