Senior Analyst / International Health Division

Minimum Qualifications:

BA with 6 - 8 years of experience OR MA/MBA (3) years of experience OR PhD (Entry Level) OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Abt Associates is a leader in health systems strengthening and a recognized expert in evaluation and applied research.  Abt’s International Health Division (IHD) currently seeks a Senior Analyst to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to strengthening international health programs through rigorous quantitative and qualitative research and analytic work.   

 

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Provide on-going monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support to field projects in reporting routine monitoring data against logframe and performance monitoring plans
  • Prepare M&E plans for international health systems strengthening projects
  • Overseeing and support the conduct of quantitative and qualitative research in a broad array of health areas, including health systems, family planning, nutrition, and malaria. 
  • Analyze data using Stata, SPSS or other analytic software, including datafrom household, provider, and facilities surveys
  • Support data quality reviews, and sharing of results from survey and/or other evaluation activities
  • Producing analytic reports and briefs for both policy and academic audiences
  • Proposal writing
  • Manage research activities, including data collection through household and health facility survey

 

Skills Prerequisites:

  • BA (minimum) or MA (preferred) in Demography, Epidemiology, Economics, Sociology or other health-related field
  • Strong analytic and writing skills
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Ability to translate data and key findings into presentation for multiple audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully with a diverse set of clients, partners and colleagues
  • Travel on short-term assignments
