Design and Development Officer-Youth Empowerment

 Based in Washington DC, will lead a team of individuals and technical advisors in innovative proposal design and development of youth empowerment, life-skills, and advocacy grants of $250,000+ USD from US government agencies, private corporate sector, selected foundations, and individual donors.  Will build the capacity of WV National and Regional offices to acquire public and private grants, by increasing local capacity to develop proposals, network and to effectively work in consortia. Lead and participate in consortia to develop and deliver innovative and integrated programming to institutional donors that improve the lives of youth worldwide.  This position also includes program design opportunities in education, child protection and gender issues. 

 

We are looking for someone to be a part of a growing team dedicated to supporting the vulnerable children and youth around the world. Requires 3-5 years international field experience in one or more of the following programmatic areas:  mentorship, youth business training, life skills and vocational education, youth advocacy, juvenile justice, and youth in conflict.   Masters degree required.  Background in writing USG basic education, youth education proposals; and preferably some experience in managing like projects.  Fluency in French, Portuguese or Spanish a plus.  Apply at , Job # 2214
