Short-term assignments in Environmental Technical Assistance - EC Framework Contracts Lot 6:

 

Nordic Consulting Group is part of the Euronet Consortium, which has been named lead-consortium for European Commission (EC) Framework Contract Lot 6: Environment. 

 

Lot 6 covers a wide range of the environment sector in developing countries and countries in transition.

 

Nordic Consulting Group would like to invite both junior and senior experts in the field of environment interested in short-term consulting assignments to apply. Selected candidates will be added to a pool of consultants who will be contacted when suitable assignments arise.

 

Profiles of experts:

 

Candidates for junior expert positions will have post-graduate qualifications in a related discipline and at least 3 years working experience in sector(s) directly or indirectly related to Environment Framework Contracts.

 

Candidates for senior expert positions will have post-graduate qualifications in a related discipline and at least 10 years working experience in sector(s) directly or indirectly related to Environment Framework Contracts.

 

Experience working on EC funded assignments is highly desirable but not always essential.

 

Fluency in more than one of the following languages is an advantage: English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian or Arabic.

 

Technical Expertise in one of the following sectors is required:

 

  1. Sustainable management, protection of natural resources or Ecosystems (forests, fight against desertification, lakes etc.)
  2. Climate change
  3. Nature protection, and Bio-diversity
  4. Marine environment, management of coastal areas
  5. Urban environment
  6. Waste management (incl. public/private management structures aspects)
  7. Industrial pollution control
  8. Water management inclusive planning (e.g. integrated river basin management), supply, waste water treatment
  9. Air pollution
  10. Natura 2000 network
  11. Chemicals (standards, transportation, packaging)
  12. Environmental risks/disaster management

 

In addition to the required expertise, experience working in one of the following issues is critical:

 

  1. Programme / project identification, preparation / formulation
  2. Programme / project implementation
  3. Preparation of Terms of Reference (services) or technical annexes (works, supplies) or evaluation of offers (Procurement)
  4. Evaluation of grant proposals
  5. Evaluations (ex-ante, interim, ex-post etc.), monitoring
  6. as well as a number of horizontal aspects:
  7. (Cross-) sectoral policies / reforms
  8. Macroeconomics
  9. Public financial management
  10. Legislation, regulations, law enforcement
  11. Approximation of legislation
  12. Institutional building
  13. Training / research
  14. Awareness-raising, (incl. information / communication)
