We are looking for a Social Development, Gender, and Resettlement Specialist for a prospective project in Indonesia.  This is a contract position of 3 person months input.

 

Duties and responsibilities for this position include:

The Social Development, Gender and Resettlement Specialist will conduct impact assessments and analysis in the related fields. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor all project activities and ensure compliance with the local government law and practice, client policies, and within social safeguards.
  • Prepare resettlement framework in the event of involuntary resettlement
  • Provide advice and support to ensure necessary government approvals
  • Assist and organise valuations by the valuation committees
  • Monitor and handle complaints
  • Establish procedures and systems for monitoring progresses of resettlement plan implementations
  • Assist in coordination and implementation works of public consultation
  • Establish gender action plans
  • Monitor and submit progress reports on resettlement and gender action plans.

 

 

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in social and poverty analysis, gender and development, community participation, and poverty impact assessments.
  • International experience in developing countries particularly in South East Asia and Indonesia.
  • A postgraduate degree in social sciences or related field
