Southern Africa Health Finance Specialist

Dexis Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Health Finance Specialist for a long-term assignment in Southern Africa to support a health policy and systems project in Malawi.

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing implementation of core activities and monitoring for key results.


• Providing state-of-the-art technical leadership and hands on abilities in: management of health systems and systems strengthening in developing countries.


• Finding and implementing solutions to challenges in health financing systems.


• Managing public-private cost-sharing partnership.




 




Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:





• Master’s degree in public health management or similar degree required.


• A minimum of eight years experience in health systems and health financing.


• Deep technical knowledge of health financing mechanisms in developing countries as demonstrated by successful work experience and, ideally, previous consulting engagements.


• Substantial experience in designing, implementing and managing systems strengthening health projects in developing countries.


• Experience in Southern Africa region working with local and district level governments essential.


• Familiarity with USAID project management, monitoring and evaluation guidelines.


• Demonstrated capacity to liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders in government and other organizations, as well as to support and supervise staff.


• Availability for long-term citizenship required.
